I hate to post a blog that is soliciting donations for anything, so I apologize in advance if my doing so offends anyone. I normally wouldn't do this but this organization has done a lot for my pupster.

The 11th Hour Rescue, the rescue where we got Basil, needs help.

Here is the message in an email I got from them:

11th Hour Rescue really needs your help. We are involved in a contest, whereby we have the potential of winning $50,000. Do you know how many dogs we can rescue with $50,000? TEN DOLLARS is all we are asking for. The top eight charities with the most number of donations will receive $50,000. Please Please donate.

WOULD YOU SPEND TEN DOLLARS TO HELP US SAVE ANOTHER ANIMAL FROM DEATH?

11th Hour Rescue is once again participating in a challenge being offered Six Degrees, partnered with the Case Foundation and Parade on America's Giving Challenge. The eight charity badges that have the most unique donors through the America's Giving Challenge will receive $50,000 for their cause.

We need the help of each and every one of you. The contest ends on January 31, 2008 at 3:00 pm eastern time so please hurry! If you have already donated, we thank you so much for helping us! We will never be too proud to beg on behalf of the animals.....

Our goal is at least 1,000 donors. Currently we have 347 donors. That means we need at least 653 people to participate in this contest in the next 25 days! If you'd like to donate, please click here.

It is NOT the organization with the most money in donations that wins BUT THE ORGANIZATION THAT HAS THE HIGHEST NUMBER OF DONORS. We are asking for you help to win this grant.

They are a wonderful rescue. They don't have a facility so all dogs are fostered in the volunteer's homes. They specialize in rescuing pregnant female dogs and finding homes for them and their babies, although they won't turn away a non-pregnant dog in need.

Anyway, if anyone's got ten bucks to spare, it'll really help the organization out!
