wren Is this normal? Oct 9, 2008 5:09 PM When do dogs usually go gray? Myko is my first dog, so I'm learning as I go... He's only 4 1/2, but I noticed right around when he turned 4 that he's starting to go gray, just his face so far. I really hope that it's not indicative of a shorter life span :cry: My little sweetie snuggles with his huge stuffed bear :)
Whiplash Does your dog hide toys or bones around the house? Oct 5, 2008 2:49 PM I know that this is normal behavior for dogs but Basil's never done this before. But yesterday we gave him a new chewy bone and he keeps pushing into corners, under furniture, etc. And then he rubs his muzzle on the floor to push "dirt" on top of it. I know this is something that a lot of dogs do instinctively but he's never done it before so I find it hilarious.
Whiplash I need doggy advice. Aug 15, 2008 6:27 PM So Basil has been a little bastard lately. He just will Not. Stop. Barking. Our living room is on the 4th floor of our building and our deck is off the room. Every time he hears another dog barking in the neighborhood (there are a lot of 'em), or a siren, or church bells, or a car door slam, or whatever, he goes apeshit. He runs out onto the deck and barks his little ass off. If the sliding glass door is closed, he just sits near there and barks. It's driving us nuts. We can't figure out how to get him to stop. We yell at him and he knows he's not supposed to do it, but it still won't stop him. I kind of thought about getting an anti-bark collar but I think that the shock collars are unnecessarily cruel. And I hear that the citronella collars don't work too well because after a while, the dog gets used to the burst of oil. Has anyone dealt with this? Any suggestions? "WOOF! WOOFWOOFWOOF! WOOF!! WOOWOOWOOWOOWOOOOOF!! WOOFWOOF!! WOOF!"
